Marineland Black Diamond Activated Carbon Filter Media eliminates discoloration, odors and impurities for sparkling clean water, and continues to do so long after other carbons quit. These heat-activated bituminous coal-based Black Diamond granules are specially sized for optimum effectiveness and are ideal for all aquarium filters. They work twice as fast and are far more efficient than coconut, wood or peat-based carbons.
Place in media bag or media basket and rinse thoroughly in cold water to eliminate dust.
Replace immediately when effectiveness diminishes, usually indicated by smells or discoloration of aquarium water. Otherwise, replace every 4 - 6 weeks.
Note: Carbon loses effectiveness over time. Replacement frequency depends on fish population, waste loads, and water conditions.
